The scale is my enemy...

I hate weighing myself. Always have, always will. I waited one week to weigh myself, and I got on this morning, and it said I has lost a total of 1 pound. Yes, I said 1 pound. Unbelievable...

Like Marie, I can recall all the "maybes." I'm sick of the maybes though. I did what I thought was right (with the exception of Wednesday when I had my Reese's cup meltdown). What is it going to take?

I could put a positive spin on this right now, but I am too angry. Would someone please send reinforcements in to help?

  1. Positive reinforcements here! One pound is frustrating, but it is one pound in the right direction. Think of the power of one pound - did you know that four sticks of butter weighs one pound? If you have a pound of butter (or anything else in your fridge/pantry that weighs a pound) go lift it up and see how much it weighs in your hand. It is quite a bit! You said in an earlier post that you had gained approximately 10 pounds a year. You did not gain a pound a week, so your rate of losing is actually higher than your rate of gaining! When I first lost weight on WW, I was regimented like you wouldn't believe, and sometimes I had a loss of .2 pounds in a week. You can do this! And sometimes, your body is working on other things as you go on this journey - your clothes may be fitting a bit looser, or your insides may be getting healthier, but you don't see those things on the scale.

We are proud of everything you have accomplished so far on OB - you are doing a great job and you are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work!

  4. Isn't Leigh awesome!? She's right though - I hadn't thought of it that way...
Also, have you managed to exercise much? Seems yhou mentioned pilates...I know I despise exercise, but doing so for 30 minutes will up your metabolism for about 12 hrs. (Or so I've read.)
I think you are doing wonderfully - be proud of what you did manage to so - so go ahead tell me what good things you did for yourself last week? hmmm? :>
